ABOUT

    Vito O. Az., sound designer and media artist, has been working since 2014 with composition and production of soundtracks and sound design for theatre, dance and audiovisual productions. 

They are interested in the use of sound through a dramaturgic medium - in its use as a means of storytelling. Using digital and acoustic techniques, noise, the acoustic interaction between waves and through the image as a sound amplifier, their sound work aims to build soundscapes that transport those who listen to an augmented reality of the place they inhabit.

    Winner of the Best Soundtrack award at the Pernambuco Audiovisual Festival for “O Que Pode Um Corpo”. Nominated for awards: Best Sound Design at the Cenym Theater Award for "2068" (EnCena Mask), Best Soundtrack at the 2019 Açorianos Award and 10th Olhares da Cena Award for "Milhões Contra Um" (Grupo Oazes); Best Soundtrack at the 10th Olhares da Cena Award for “A Última Peça” (Teatro Sarcáustico); and Best Soundtrack at the 2019 Tibicuera Theater Award for the play “A Praga de Unicórnios” (Grupo Oazes).

    Participant in the second cycle of the digital occupation “Projeto Duna”; the festival “Un-Earthed: A festival of listening and environment”, held by the Center for Creative Research in Sound Arts Practice (CRiSAP) at the University of the Arts London (UAL); and the Monteaudio20-Imagination Festival of the Forma y Sonido of the Universidad de la República (Uruguay)
